This is the 5th post in our series: Where can I SUP… and I don’t mean “on holiday” but “I’ve got 2-3 hours on Saturday morning where can I go?” Or “I’m taking the kids out Saturday afternoon where is easy and safe to SUP?”

Leybourne Lakes Country Park is near Snodland, in Kent, England. The park, which opened in 2004, was created from disused gravel pits that have been flooded and landscaped to make fishing and wildlife lakes. Watersports include the opportunity to windsurf, SUP, canoe and kayak. Access to the lake is through Leybourne Lake Watersports.

They Say “Access to the water will be by pre-booked appointments online only, if you turn up at the lake and have not booked online you will not be able to paddle.
We ask that any accompanying family members spectating keep to the county park and keep clear of the water entry and exit gates at all times.
Please ensure that you are out of the water with your equipment packed away, have signed out with us at the centre, and are ready to leave the site by the end of you allotted time slot at the latest.”

Access to the water will be by the usual SUP/Kayak gate and care must be taken to keep to social distancing guidelines whilst entering and exiting the lake at this pinch point. Novices to accomplished paddlers, please be patient and allow everyone the time and space they need |
