7 Hot Sup Spots in the UK Part 6 – South East

 

This is the 6th post in our series: Where can I SUP?…  “I’ve got 2-3 hours on Saturday morning where can I go?” Or “I’m taking the kids out  where is easy and safe to SUP?”

We are going to post a hand full of our favorite SUP spots over the course of the next few weeks. Here is the 6th: Check it out in the App.

Look up name in the App:  Teston Bridge (River Medway)

 

Where is it:

The River Medway is a river in Kent. It stretches from in the High Weald in Sussex and flows through Tonbridge and Maidstone to the Thames Estuary.

 

What’s There:

Teston Bridge was constructed in the 14th or 15th century and comprises six arches of various heights and widths, the middle three of which span the river.  Facilities wise there are toilets, a picnic area, and the Lodge Café which provides refreshments from a mobile van on site

Water Conditions:

Varies depending on where you are. Most stretches offering calm and easy paddling. Popular launch points include Teston, Tonbridge Slipway, Yalding.

Put in point:

It is approximately 100M across the field to the lock where you will find an upstream and downstream canoe platform.

Parking:

Parking is available at Teston Country Park from 9 am until dusk
