7 Hot Sup Spots in the UK Part 1 – South East

Thankfully we are rapidly approaching the easing of some of the lockdown measures. Is there an opportunity to get outside and enjoy the water?

This is the second post in our series: Where can I SUP… and I don’t mean “on holiday” but “I’ve got 2-3 hours on Saturday morning where can I go?” Or “I’m taking the kids out Saturday afternoon where is easy and safe to SUP?”

We are going to post a hand full of our favorite SUP spots over the course of the next few weeks. Here is the second: Check them out in the App.

Look up name in the App:  Bodiam Boating Station (River Rother)

Where is it:

The River Rother flows for 35 miles (56 km) through the English counties of East Sussex and Kent.

You’ll find Bodiam Boating Station smack bang on the border of Kent and Sussex near to the village of Robertsbridge, is not far from the A21 that runs from north Kent down to the coast.

What’s There:

Its source is near Rotherfield in East Sussex, and its mouth is on Rye Bay, part of the English Channel. The river has been used for navigation since Roman times, and is still navigable by small boats as far as Bodiam Castle a stunning, riverside 14th century moated castle with a ruined interior offering a glimpse of medieval splendour from a bygone era and now a fantastic and fun-filled day out for the entire family.

Awesome destination for a family day out or just some gentle SUP action. The Bodiam Boating Station is a great spot to Launch though there is a launching charge. It has good facilities including equipment hire, food and camping!!
